A mascot and me saw when we both visited the 'Zurich Cacti and Succulent collection'. We both decided the mascot looked cheaply made and needed a revamp so we both did a revamp. Maybe they like it any hire us for a revamp?
I fear they couldn't really hire you, they are often a bit low on fundings. That's maybe the reason why the mascot looks so cheaply made. So why you offer them for a symbolic price? This way you can honor the good work they do there!
I'm a bit of a cactus collector myself (the joys of living in a warm climate, I can keep mine outside in large pots so they grow nice and big ) Though I will admit, as someone who has frequented garden nurseries and other plant-related things a lot - this industry/scene does seem like a magnet for poorly-designed mascot characters (like when the flowers/leaves or entire plants or trees are given faces/made into characters, or if the character is a human grower/collector of said plants like what seemed to have inspired this redesign) Many do make me cringe, especially if they are shaded using the gradient tool or if a cartoon face was just drawn over a photo of the real plant Then again it's not exactly a booming profit industry (I considered going into horticulture myself but was warned of the fact it's incredibly shit-paying) so maybe a lot of the growers just have to go with whoever will design their mascots and graphics for the cheapest. Still - redesigning a lame mascot is a really good idea, if they see this - they might wanna buy it off you!
I love your version of Sara. Better and funnier than mine! And I also dig the plants you put on her side resp. into her hands
I also love the cactus background, the yellow-ish colours (fits fine to desert cacti) and just how you captures or even expanded Sara's personality. And in general I enjoy obscure fanarts Last but not least: It was a joy visiting the collection with you (and watching you enjoying it yourself).
