SWEFS- The Last Stand by Themrock SWEFS- The Last Stand by Themrock
An epic scene from the swefs. Faked subtitles to give the feeling its a foreign movie.

:omg: That gotta de the most hardcore cartoon battle scene! Not even Marscha escaped the beating!

Now, even though I am an old-fashioned guy, thus disliking to see women hurt, I also tend to think this only enhances the lady's badassness. Also, it is refreshing to see you avoided the woman-shall-never-get-a-single-scratch trope. It wouldn't be too plausible, especially with an action girl.

The subtitle was a cool touch. I'd pay to see the movie, though.
I'd like to go help them with some robot wrecking... lemme get my wrench :iconwrench2plz:.

On a side note: hey, Dirk, how is the SWEFS site? I only stopped watching it because of malware detection (it was some time ago).

I am not a fan of that exact feministic hypocrisy. When a woman gets a beating, she needs also visual damage.
I for myself dislike it to give female characters pain and physical damage, but you cannot avoid it as a storyteller.

The SWEFs page is still infected, but my knowledge is not there to fix it and I have no help.
The story itself is put on hold since a year already, because the watcher base and fanbase was so small...it was a shot in the dark.

The so-called "chivalry sense" that discourages artists in general from giving female characters the same treatment as male ones is based on the assumption that women are fragile, inferior to men... not that it stops them from depicting women in certain situations for the sake of fan service or fetish, mind you. It gets ridiculous with action girls, which are expected to be able to endure the same hardship their male counterparts go through.

Now, that's not to say am advocating violence against women, just saying artists and storytellers could use some logic in their works. And you really did a great job here :).

Oh, man, what a drag about SWEFS site. Isn't there anyone who can help you there?
And, no, don't say that... it was not (a shot in the dark). Maybe you just started it a bit early. See, you need first to make your chars more known, posting more pics and bits about them. Then, when people are more familiar with them, it's time to debut them in a story.
Also, it has been a really rough time for you there, so it's perfectly justified. You might as well start it over, but perhaps you'd better just take a rest from it. Gather some ideas, write some drafts. You may want some help, so don't refrain from asking. That kind of thing is way harder done by yourself. Am sure there are a lot of people, even in dA, who would be glad to take part on your work.

All liberals, as much as i support the basic thought of their motivations, tend to fall back into conservative thinking and make the old goal into a very controversial view on the thing. Either they do it 100% or stay on the old habits. The inbetweens can be enjoyed too and should never be overanalysed, but when you try to deliver a (an important) message it comes of hypocrtical messages.

There is a slo a difference between subtle gore and stuff you just can't hide. Like showing a woman getting violently killed or raped is not necassary to show, when only done for voyeuristic purposes. Either done over the top (like in the one superjail episode) or subtle like 'letting the mind of the viewer do the job' is more effectful than being plain 'show what happens' way.

There are some, but they either dont care or dont want to help. Nobody gives you stuff for free...except me who gives comic entertainment without any money thought ^^

Pretty rad to see the crew against those robot thugs in a climactic battle. This could turn out ugly. :noes:

Love the style! Great combination of cartoon and gross exaggeration. And the colors are brilliant!

It's not everyday you see a cartoony girl character take a beating, let alone spitting out teeth. It's still cartoony but so hardcore in a way.

This has better not be the end. I want to see the return of the comic one day.

I am not against it, but deep inside i dont like killing females too. The Swefs were never a concept for kids only, the major stuff is usual cartoon physical violence, but i try to add more mature content too.

We are just gentlemen of the old school... but as storytellers we should accept that it happens without our control, so we should do it also when it needs to surpass some blocks.

If the story calls for it, it's not a problem. I still think that this piece rules.

Its one of my 'lesser' faved and commented drawings. Was thinking 3 days why it was ot so 'loved'. At the end it turns into cynical thinking.

I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to be cynical. I was only saying that growing up, it always seems that many would avoid allowing anything happen to a girl character. What you did here allows her to be one of the characters of the story.

The Swefs should be about a lot mature topics too, I don't want to make it into a kidfriendly comic, was never my intention, just not perverted or unaccecable for kids.

My intent was never to make the swefs into a silly kid cartoon/comic, I try to add also deeper issues into it. I hate it when artists and watchers wanna keep cartoons for kids only somehow.

Agreed! Cartoons are a fantastic medium. The very idea itself is to take the world around us and stretch and shape it into our imagination's perception, why that should ever only be limited to children is a fallacy.

That's why the old WB cartoons and Animaniacs still hold up well and still has a lot of fans. They don't judge kids as stupid and don't judge adults as no target.
