cool, and I stand corrected, there was 5 forgot about the mummy one, but neither of those two sold well, at least around here they didn't.
I remember one of the potato chip makers tried fruit flavored potato chips once! they had grape, orange, cherry, and banana I think? needless to say that didn't sell well either, they tasted terrible and disappeared off the selves in 6 months, never to be seen again.
There was an interesting documentary called "The Making of Junk Food" from around 1988 produced in the UK where they showed industrial psychologists, focus groups, and engineers all involved in the making of a prototype product. It was both stomach turning and amusing as to what they would come up with... Google the term "Crack-A-Snack" and see what you come up with when you have some time to kill.
will have to have a look at it some time, out of curiosity it interesting to note, that even with all the psychology involved, tactile stimulation models, color and aroma theory it was still very much a hit and miss industry as to what people will buy, use.
